20 Years of Enterprise Data Leadership

Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, I've spent two decades at the intersection of data architecture, business intelligence, and organizational strategy — across banking, government, and enterprise technology sectors.

My work is defined by a single conviction: data is only valuable when it drives decisions. Everything I build — from DWH architectures to executive dashboards — is designed with that end in mind.

I'm Amr Sarhan, a Business Intelligence Manager and Data Architecture Advisor based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With over 20 years of hands-on experience, I specialize in designing and delivering enterprise analytics ecosystems that drive strategic decisions.

My career spans five distinct sectors — banking, government, postal services, technology consulting, and enterprise ERP — giving me a rare breadth of context that most specialists never develop. I have built BI platforms from absolute scratch, transformed legacy reporting environments, and led multi-disciplinary data teams.

Currently, I serve as Business Intelligence Manager at Alinma Bank, where I lead a team of six developers and analysts, overseeing the full software development lifecycle for enterprise analytics across retail, corporate, and operations banking.

Beyond my core role, I am actively investing in the emerging domains of Data Governance, Responsible AI, and Predictive Analytics — completing multiple certifications in 2025 to sharpen my advisory practice for the decade ahead.

My Approach

Philosophy & Principles

"I don't just implement tools — I architect outcomes. Every data system I design is built with the business question first, and the technology second."

My guiding principle is that technology is a means, not an end. The most sophisticated data warehouse in the world has zero value if it doesn't answer the questions business leaders are actually asking. I always start with the problem before I touch the platform.

I believe in standards and repeatability. Ad hoc reports and one-off dashboards erode trust over time. The data systems I design are built around a semantic layer, governed metadata, and tested pipelines — so that the numbers executives see at 9am Monday are the same numbers their teams see at 5pm Friday.

And I believe that data maturity is a journey, not a destination. Every organization I've worked with has been at a different point on that journey — and my role is to meet them where they are, and help them move purposefully forward.

Core Values

What Drives My Work

01
Architectural Integrity

Every solution is designed for scale, maintainability, and resilience — not just to solve today's problem but to serve the organization for years to come.

02
Business Alignment

Data initiatives live or die by their relevance to real business outcomes. I anchor every technical decision to a measurable strategic objective.

03
Team Elevation

My legacy is the capability of the people I've worked with. I invest deeply in knowledge transfer, mentorship, and building teams that outlast any single project.
